Spirituality In Everyday Life
We all have busy lives; we all go to work, school, taking care of family-spouses, children, elderly parents, community, etc. Morning time tends to be the hardest. Getting ready, packing lunches for kids, trying to get into the bathroom early enough to beat the morning rush, making sure everybody had breakfast and leaves on time-and the day continues at work, where getting stressed out is just part of the deal. Going home doesn’t get easier: kids to be picked up, grocery shopping, cooking dinner, often finishing work from home, being on call if your job is service related.
Ugh, I’m getting stressed out just reading it! But when do we have time to step out of this wheel?
Most likely, weekends are the time to get much-needed rest, the chance to reconnect with each other and ourselves. That’s when we call family and friends, going to houses of worship…
We listen to the sermon, feeling uplifted, connected the Source and light.
When being at peace gets a chance…
But what about the rest of the time? When it’s not the weekend, holiday, birthday, Valentine’s day?
How much of that heartfelt love we really able to carry into our workdays, evenings, when we are tired, impatient, and ready to explode?
Well, that is the time to remember our spirituality. When we recognize that even when we are stressed, upset, etc., the other person we are talking to might equally be spent and exhausted and all they want is a respectful word, a positive confirmation, an acknowledgment…
To do that, we will have to gather an extra amount of strength, self- control and kindness. Yes, extra effort.
But what we offer that way is an act of kindness, what is immeasurable to the other one and will be returned to us and appreciated, and everybody’s day will be easier! Isn’t that worth it?
And at the end of the day, WE ARE LIVING AND PRACTICING SPIRITUALITY. We, Humans, are eternal spiritual beings. It’s what makes us and makes us connected!
Our Souls will thank us, along with God , the Angels, fellow humans, and coworkers!
